About Fuzzy Logic's Name

Practical application of fuzzy logic to website communications is what my business is all about ... blending the art of communications with the science of computers.

Fuzzy logic is a logic that describes fuzzy problems, not logic that is fuzzy. It is an alternative to traditional logic with its true-or-false dichotomy. For example, in a fuzzy set of tallness members have varying degrees of tallness, rather than being either tall or not tall.

Fuzzy logic is used for problems "not easily definable by practical mathematical models." It "derives much of its power from its ability to draw conclusions and generate responses based on vague, ambiguous, qualitative, incomplete, or imprecise information."
- from Fuzzy Logic in C, Creating a fuzzy-based inference engine by Greg Viot, in Dr. Dobb's Journal of February 1993

That's real life ... my world is full of fuzzy logic!
